It's always been challenge figuring out what kind of music I "do".  I grew up with Gospel, Classical, Funk, Soul, Sacred, and so many Panamanian and Caribbean rhythms.  So, I stopped worrying about the genre and starting focusing on the story behind each song.   The greatest advice I received one time was that it didn't matter what I sang, I could still evoke the spirit.
